HXLLOGHXST is the music project of Jay Jones, a producer who doesn’t care much for fitting into genres or scenes. the music lives somewhere between ambient, glitchcore, trap, emo, and something else entirely. sometimes it’s heavy. sometimes it's soft. sometimes it just sounds like a memory you can’t place. and that’s kind of the whole point.
the idea to start releasing music seriously hit him on a run, headphones in, blasting Getter. something about it clicked, like "yeah, this is what i should be doing." he’d had the username “helloghost” floating around online for a couple of years, and decided to twist it into something more fitting for the vibe he wanted to create. that’s where HXLLOGHXST came from.
inspired by artists like Clams Casino, Lil Peep, Aphex Twin, and SOPHIE (to name a few), the project pulls from all kinds of sounds. some tracks hit like trap bangers, others drift into ambient or ethereal territory, and some are just full-on distorted chaos. but it always sounds like HXLLOGHXST.
HXLLOGHXST releases beats and projects regularly across YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud. recent releases include botanical dreams.zip, a soft, nostalgic EP built from airy textures and natural samples.
this isn’t a brand. it’s not marketing. it’s just one person trying to translate emotions into sound. and if the music resonates with you, that’s all it needs to do.
HXLLOGHXST is available on Youtube, where he drops his ambient beats weekly, usually accompanied by some kind of visualizer. Here is a playlist to his latest release Botanical Dreams.zip, an EP that explores the botanical vibes and ambient instrumentals
All of HXLLOGHXST's full releases are available on Spotify, as well as the previously-mentioned Botanical Dreams.zip.
Botanical Dreams.Zip is also available to listen to on Soundcloud as well as other ambient, experimental beats.
Back in 2023, before Auralithic Collective was ever born, Sun Dream and HXLLOGHXST collaborated to host a collection of beats, using Sun Dream's bandcamp page. Technically, this could be considered the first release from HXLLOGHXST. Future releases would then on be put out via Auralithic Collective through Spotify, Soundcloud and Youtube.
